Our location, within the Vale of Belvoir is just a stones throw from the historic town of Grantham, birth place of Sir Isaac Newton and close to the historic town of Melton Mowbray, famed for its Pork Pies and Stilton Cheese.
Sherwood Forest, reputed home and hiding place from the Sheriff of Nottingham by the outlaw legend Robin Hood, is situated close by and may also be of interest to visitors.
We are also situated close to Rutland Water, the second largest man made reservoir in Europe, Set in 3,100 acres of countryside, the reservoir offers something for everyone in an exciting yet peaceful environment. It has a 25-mile circular track for walking and you can hire a cycle or bring your own. Rutland Water has an international reputation for sailing, trout fishing and bird watching including the rare bird of prey, the Red Kite.
Rutland, England’s smallest county, is rich in history, Oakham town has attracted many visitors over the centuries, many of which have presented the town with grand horseshoes which are on display at Oakham Castle in the town's market square.
The historic market town of Stamford, reputed to be one of England’s finest stone towns is also close by, it boasts some outstanding stone architecture, some of the streets used for the filming of the period drama Pride and Prejudice. Stamford is rich in history, the River Welland runs through Stamford and this made it a major trade route in times gone by.
