The Manners Arms was built for the 6th Duke of Rutland as a Hunting Lodge in the 1880's, and remained occupied by members of the Manners family until the 1950’s. It was during this time that the building was converted to a local hostelry.
For many years it had been the desire of the Duke and Duchess to run this popular country inn, and when the opportunity arose, they decided to purchase the property in the summer of 2005.
Unknown to the Duke, the Duchess, with her background interior design, raided the towers at the family home, Belvoir Castle and set about furnishing the 10 bedrooms, lounge and bar area. This has created a unique and welcoming environment for guests, and adds a personal charm to the rooms and dining areas.

The Beaters Bar has a relaxed atmosphere in which a light snack, delicious pub meal or drink can be enjoyed, on offer is a varied selection of guest ales and wines, available by the glass.
The Red Coats restaurant is the ideal place to enjoy a meal after a day out in the wonderful English countryside that surrounds The Manners Arms.
Our extensive menu is prepared by Paul Hoad and is packed with seasonal fresh local produce, complimented by our carefully selected wine list.
For serious wine connoisseurs, a selection from the Duke's private cellar can be made available for prior selection.
Also on offer, overlooked by the conservatory, is a wonderful patio and garden area, ideal for lazing and relaxing on a hot summers day.
