Built in the 1880’s, the Manners Arms was built for the 6th Duke of Rutland as a Hunting Lodge and remained occupied by members of the Manners family until the 1950’s. It was during this time that the building was converted to a local hostelry.
For many years it had been the desire of the Duke and Duchess to run this popular country inn, and when the opportunity arose, they decided to purchase the property in the summer of 2005.
Unknown to the Duke, the Duchess, with her background interior design, raided the towers at the family home, Belvoir Castle and set about furnishing the 10 bedrooms, lounge and bar area. This has created a unique and welcoming environment for guests, and adds a personal charm to the rooms and dining areas.
